2026 GMC Call for Abstracts

One of the industry’s premier conferences, GMRC’s Gas Machinery Conference offers three days of leading-edge technical training and educational presentations designed to equip the industry with the skills needed to be successful in operations, while connecting attendees to other motivated professionals and service providers from across the country and world.

The educational sessions and networking opportunities are valuable for design engineers, facility engineers, and technicians emphasizing the operation, maintenance and testing of gas compression machinery.

The conference includes a wide range of short courses, technical papers, and technology updates, all presented by some of the leading subject matter experts in the industry. The event also includes a vendor exhibit with over 120 companies showcasing the latest equipment, technology, and services.

Deadlines are strictly enforced. NO exceptions will be made. Please add these dates to your calendar to avoid unforeseen or unavoidable delays in your schedule.

Submission Types

The GMC Planning Committee will accept papers for the conference based on an informative abstract submitted by the deadline. All abstracts will be evaluated on the information supplied. The planning committee will use this information to help select papers, assign time slots and assign technical reviewers.

  • Short Courses: The Short Course presentation is a 3-hour technical presentation. This presentation should be free of commercialism and fall into one of the categories listed below. Authors must submit a final PowerPoint presentation to be published on the Gas Machinery Research Council’s online library.
  • Mini Short Courses: The Mini Short Course presentation is a 90-minute presentation. This presentation should be free of commercialism and fall into one of the categories listed below. Authors must submit a final PowerPoint presentation to be published on the Gas Machinery Research Council’s online library.
  • Technical Papers: The Technical Paper presentations are 45-minute lectures consisting of 35-40 minutes of lecture and 5-10 minutes of questions and answers. This presentation should be free of commercialism and fall into one of the categories listed below. Authors must submit a final paper published on the Gas Machinery Research Council’s online library.
  • Industry Innovation Spotlight: The Industry Innovation Spotlight presentations are 8-minute commercial presentations that detail a new technology, product, or service for 2025/2026. To present a Industry Innovation Spotlight, the presenting companies must be members/associate members of the Gas Machinery Research Council (GMRC). If you would like to present a technology update, but are unsure if your company is a member, or you would like to become a member of GMRC, please contact Rishi at RChauhan@sganaturalgas.org or memberservices@gmrc.org or call 713-259-9158.

The GMRC’s guidelines for technical papers can be downloaded from HERE. This guideline covers topics such as unnecessary commercialism, use of Imperial/Metric units, defining acronyms and industry jargon, avoiding specific about persons/companies unless permission granted, etc.

Of course! You may submit as many abstracts as you would like. Please submit your abstract for consideration via the form below.

You must bring a flash drive to the conference and must be able to use the laptop provided in each classroom. If this is an issue, please contact RChauhan@sganaturalgas.org.

Industry Innovation spotlight FAQs

The GMC industry innovation spotlights are 8-minute slots given to the entire conference. The time is yours to present information about the new technology/product to all participants. We do not review the material prior to the presentation. You are expected to arrive about 15 minutes early for the session with the presentation on a USB stick. We will load the presentation onto a computer with PowerPoint and a PDF viewer so that there is no time wasted switching out equipment between presentations. The presentation order will be determined by the schedule which is usually alphabetical. The moderator will provide final instructions and allow for a walk through during the 15 minutes prior to the session.

Is there a hotel requirement for exhibitors and sponsors?

Yes. Please review the Hotel Accommodation Requirement:

As a condition of participation in the Gas Machinery Conference (GMC), all sponsors and exhibitors are required to book accommodations within GMRC’s official room block at the designated headquarters hotel for the full duration of the event. This policy ensures GMRC meets contractual obligations, avoids financial penalties, and supports the continued quality and sustainability of the conference.

By participating, you agree to the following conditions:

  • All sponsor and exhibitor representatives must stay at the GMC headquarters hotel, booking through GMRC’s official room block link.
  • Hotel reservations must be secured at the time of event registration, paid in full. No refunds will be issued, but name changes are allowed.
  • All unused rooms must be released at least 30 days prior to the conference start date.
  • Failure to comply constitutes a breach of the Sponsor/Exhibitor Agreement.

Non-compliance penalties may include:

  • A penalty fee equal to GMRC’s actual room revenue loss due to non-block usage.
  • Loss of benefits such as signage, app listing, or attendee access.
  • Loss of priority placement or booth/sponsorship selection for future GMC events.
  • Ineligibility to participate in future GMRC-hosted conferences.
  • Note: Booking at the HQ hotel or overflow properties without using the official GMC room block link does not count toward room block fulfillment.

Booking information will be provided upon registration. Early reservations are strongly encouraged to ensure availability and fulfillment of this requirement
