GMC 2012 Call for Papers

September 30 - October 3 - Austin, Texas

The GMRC Gas Machinery Conference is a forum for design engineers, facility engineers, and technicians with an emphasis on the operation, maintenance, and testing of gas compression machinery.  Papers related to gas compression machinery topics are being solicited for the 2012 Conference.

PAPERS ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE 2012 GMC.  Notification will be sent to authors by April 18 regarding acceptance status.

BASIC GUIDELINES FOR PAPERS

The GMC Planning Committee will accept papers for the Conference based on an informative abstract submitted by the deadline.  All abstracts will be evaluated on the information supplied.  The review committee will use this information to help select papers, assign time slots, and assign technical reviewers.  

You may submit an abstract for a short course (3 hours); technical paper presentation (45 minutes); or a new technology update (10 minutes). The Planning Committee has final say regarding which category is selected.

All papers must be free of unnecessary commercialism.

The committee will give preference to papers that meet the following criteria:

  • Present a properly constructed informative abstract as opposed to a descriptive abstract.
  • Are pertinent to current gas compression machinery issues.
  • Discuss new, innovative, and/or successful technologies, processes or methodologies
  • Present the results of scientific studies (may be in support of technologies, process or methodologies)
  • Case studies involving gas compression machinery and related issues
  • Involve and/or are presented by users. 

PAPER / TITLE / AUTHOR INFORMATION

  • TITLE - should be concise yet descriptive of the substance of the proposed presentation.  Company names and trade names are prohibited in paper titles. 
  • TYPE OF PAPER - indicate whether the paper is being submitted as a short course (3 hours), technical paper (45 min), or technology update (10 min).    
  • AUTHOR(S) - If the paper is co-authored, list the names of the authors in the order they should appear in the program.
  • COMPANY - Enter the company name, address, city, state and zipcode.
  • PUBLISHED - Indicate whether the paper has been published or presented previously.
  • PRESENTER - Indicate the name of the person (or persons) who will actually make the presentation.  
  • EMAIL ADDRESS - Enter the email address of the primary contact for the paper.   This will be the primary means of communication from GMRC.
  • DESCRIPTION - This information should be a synopsis of your paper and should be very specific.   The description should be approximately 150 words or less.  List unique, new or useful information that will be presented by the paper

  • March 14 - Detailed abstracts due
  • April 18 - Acceptance notices mailed
  • July 11 - Draft papers due to GMC Committee for peer review and comments
  • August 8 - Executive Summary of paper due
  • September 5 - Final papers due
